Your friendly neighborhood pest control service, as it turns out, has been using a disinfectant that is effective against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19 for quite some time now.
Rocklin Pest Control, Placer and Sacramento County’s premier bug and pest extermination professionals, uses Nisus DSV (disinfectant, sanitizer, and virucide) in its disinfectant treatments, and is now offering local homeowners, communities, and businesses a more proactive cleaning service designed to combat the coronavirus.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) has added Nisus DSV, an active ingredient in much of Rocklin Pest Control‘s sanitization treatments, to EPA List N, a list of government-approved disinfectants cleared for use against the deadly coronavirus.
Rich Sartain, General Manager of Rocklin Pest Control Services, Inc. says that they’ve been using disinfectant agents with Nisus DSV “for years”, and–because of the rising demand–have now started making their Disinfectant (Sanitizer-Virucide) Control Program more readily available for their residential and commercial clients.
“We’ve had a commercial client that has had the misfortune of a rodent infestation years ago,” recalls Sartain. “So since then, we’ve been offering disinfectant, sanitization, and virucide services to businesses, homeowners, and communities, particularly those that have problems with bats, mice, rats, or roaches.”
Nisus DSV is a broad-spectrum disinfectant, sanitizer, virucide fungicide, and deodorizer that is labeled to kill dozens of strains of viruses and bacteria including but not limited to Hantavirus, E. Coli, Hepatitis B and C, Avian flu, staph, strep, salmonella, and others.
“DSV is highly effective against disease-causing bacteria,” explained Sartain, and added that “it’s also a sanitizer that rids an area of harmful germs, viruses, fungi, and mold, which is why it has always been ideal for sanitizing restaurants, commercial kitchens, and local business establishments.”
The EPA has determined that Nisus DSV is effective against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease. The disinfectant is safe for all surfaces and dries within two hours. Studies have shown that Nisus DSV kills pathogens within seconds and has been used by governments around the world and is listed in the biosecurity guides of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization.
Sartain explains that a typical Disinfectant (Sanitizer-Virucide) Control Program might include wiping down hard surfaces, especially in high-traffic areas of a home or an establishment. A treatment will then be performed in the outlined areas with Nisus DSV. Workers (or residents) can then return to their space in as little as two to four hours after treatment.
“It’s always satisfying to walk into a freshly-sanitized space,” Sartain shares. “Rocklin Pest Control adheres to the highest disinfectant and sanitization standards, and we’re prepared to disinfect and sanitize businesses, communities, and homes, according to protocols set forth by the Centers for Disease Control.”
Rocklin Pest Control has been a part of the community since 2005, serving the neighborhoods of Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Auburn, and other nearby areas. With over 30 years of experience and expertise, Rocklin Pest Control normally responds to pest control calls involving termite inspections, pigeons, rodents, and other more common bugs and insects, as well as structural repairs and disinfectant-sanitizer services.
Sartain explains that companies like Rocklin Pest Control help protect the public health and safety by ensuring the safety and sanitization of the very structures that we are all “sheltering-in-place in” or that have been left abandoned or unused during this time.
